Christine Guenther, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC
Dr. Christine Guenther is originally from the Boston area. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Bentley College and spent several years working as a Product Manager for a healthcare software company before deciding to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Guenther received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University in 2005. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 2006. Following her internship, Dr. Guenther spent three years as a resident in small animal emergency and critical care at Tufts University, completing her residency in 2009. Dr. Guenther completed the requirements for board-certification and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) in October, 2010. Her clinical interests include respiratory diseases, sepsis and disorders of coagulation.
Dr. Guenther enjoys running, skiing, yoga and swimming. In her spare time, she likes to hike, trail run and mountain bike with her two dogs, "Smeagle" and "Wynne". She also shares her home two cats, "Monkey" and "Jacoby", and a beta fish, "Tedy Bruschi IV".
Christine R. Rutter, DVM
Practice Limited to Critical Care
Dr. Christine Rutter is originally from Biloxi, MS, where she spent her childhood exploring the Gulf Coast wetlands and culture. She attended Mississippi State University, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2003. After two years of working in general practice in Coral Springs, FL, Dr. Rutter's interest in emergency care was piqued. She then completed a one-year internship at Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Service in 2006 and a three-year residency in emergency and critical care at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Rutter has a special interest in trauma, ventilation problems and transfusion medicine.
Sarah J. Deitschel, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC
Dr. Sarah Deitschel grew up in Schaumburg, IL, a suburb of Chicago, and completed a Bachelor of Arts in biology at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Dr. Deitschel also completed a Bachelor of Science in veterinary science at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana). After earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), Dr. Deitschel completed a small-animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego, CA. Dr. Deitschel then completed a residency in small-animal emergency and critical care at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Deitschel's clinical interests include sepsis, trauma and ventilation medicine. In 2011, Dr. Deitschel completed the requirements for board-certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC).
In her spare time, Dr. Deitschel enjoys running and hiking and spending time with her two mixed-breed dogs, "Ellie" and "Jersey" and cat, "Oliver".
